TOPIC: Face Tracking

Face Tracking 8 years, 9 months ago #61

Hi,

Is there any built-in or third party face tracking software/API for Reeti?

Thanks

Re: Face Tracking 8 years, 9 months ago #67

You can find several face tracking lib on the web (chenlab.ece.cornell.edu/projects/FaceTracking/ for example)
You can also use opencv functions (studio-horatio.fr/2012/03/16/tuto-opencv-facetracking/)

There is nothing directly integrated in Reeti.

Do understand how to integrate it, you can start from the code sample UExhibitor (in /home/reeti/reetiDevel/developmentDoc/Sample/Urbi/UExhibitor/)
(it has been added today on Reeti repository, so maybe you will need to update Reeti from home page update icon).

UExhibitor example show you :
- how to acquire video from webcam in an urbi module with opencv (in a separate thread)
- just notice the use of "WaitForAcquiring" which empty the buffer. Otherwise you will have a delay when you start acquiring again.
- how to detect a moving person in the video (very basic algorithm just for the demo)
- how to read parameters in an xml config file
- how to do an urbi module to be launched by Reeti urbi launcher

To compile and install such a module in reeti in order to be launched at Reeti Power on :
Compile:
- cd UExhibitor/build
- cmake ..
- make
Install :
- add loader script of the module in /home/reetiPrograms/load/InitModule.u (copy it from UExhibitor/Resource/)
- add UVar declaration of your module boolean (isUExhibitorLoaded) in /home/reetiPrograms/load/InitVar.u
To call the actions of this new module :
- does the urbi call : Global.exhibitor.Start("missionExhibitor.xml"); (missionExhibitor.xml is an example of config file given in UExhibitor/Resources)

I loaded the given module in Reeti and it successfully runs as expected. I was wondering if there's any way to display the DrawResults of contours on the webcam feed or for that matter, even a separate window. When I try to display it in a separate window I receive the following error: "VIDIOC_QUERYMENU: Invalid argument libv4l2: error setting pixformat: Device or resource busy HIGHGUI ERROR: libv4l unable to ioctl S_FMT"

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like you try to open a camera which is already opened.
Maybe you have already opened it for the face tracking algorithm.

Try to put the contour drawing in the same section of code than face tracking.

You can also use /dev/video2 which is a "fake camera" which can be opened by several clients.
